Labor Day Weekend 2010

What a busy weekend we had here at home! First of all, Mister Oliver has graduated to a BIG BOY BED! This was done due to the stealth and lightening fast sneaking out of the crib. The transition is a little slow- but he's getting a hang of it!

On Friday afternoon, we of course decided to throw a kink in things by having an overnight backyard camp-out! We didn't make use of our GIGANTIC tent earlier this season, so we had to try it out in the backyard.

Oliver is helping to get the tent set up. He is checking the durability in this photo!

Now it is time to get the fire pit ready.

Here is the raging fire....with the HUGE tent in the background.

O enjoying the fire.

Eating fire-roasted hot dogs. Oliver's dog only fell on the ground once (or twice)....but it's ok because..."We're Camping!"

A little popcorn popped over the fire!

Now it's time for S'mores.

Oliver and Mommy roasting their mallows.

Neighbors Molly and Mark came to enjoy some backyard S'mores with O. He was in heaven! (And, I think Molly was too!)

More S'mores!

Family camping photo.

Seriously, there was room for 4 families in this tent! We were really roughing it! HA!

After recovering from our night camping, we headed over to the Kruse house to see out-of-town college friends, Brooke and Chris Gilman. Brooke and Chris had just been out crabbing and we all got to enjoy a little crab cracking and consuming!

The boys hard at work with the crabs. (I think this was half-time of the Husky game).

Sneaky little Oliver trying to get Hayden's ice cream.

Success! Yum.

Brooke struming a few cords with the little boys.
And last of all, Monday, there was a Houghton (our neighborhood of Kirkland) Parade and Picnic. Oliver LOVED riding his decorated scooter in the parade. He felt like such a big kid!

Scooting along!

Well we kind of ended up as the caboose of the parade. That was a lot of scooting for one little guy!
