The Four Seasons and Mauna Lani

We found a new favorite afternoon activity on Kona. Head north during nap time and arrive at Mauna Lani just in time for happy hour and an afternoon snack. Mauna Lani is a nice resort but since all beaches are open to the public, you can just walk on the beach and enjoy it! Then we wash up, change our clothes, and head down the road to the Four Seasons for dinner at the Beach Tree restaurant right on the beach. We get the fancy feeling for the afternoon without spending an arm and a leg. Here are some great photos from those two locations:

We enjoy the drinks - she enjoys the flower

Almost ready to ride on daddy's shoulders

Now at the Four Seasons getting ready for the sunset and some dinner

Yummy drinks

Dancing to some live music (or marching)

Still dancing...

Family shot after dinner. Yeah, Oliver and daddy wore matching shirts.

Oliver and Ruby posing for the camera

Not sure what's so funny...

Must be really funny...

Water slide and more fun in the pool

There was a new activity in town...the Tsunami! It's a 45 ft high blow up water slide and luckily for me - Oliver didn't want to do it by himself. We took about 20 runs on this bad boy. I'll let the pictures tell the story!

Of course - after riding the Tsunami - you must take down a shaved ice!

And if shaved ice is not an option - how about a toe

Luckily again for me - Oliver didn't want to ride the Tsunami by himself and he was willing to share his shaved ice

So not only did we swim in the pool, but we tried snorkeling...tried for about 2 minutes and then Oliver was done with that game

But surfing on the boogy board was more fun

Hang loose man!

Someone else was also laughing and having fun by the pool

So much fun can tire a girl out

Shhh, be quiet - Ruby is sleeping...hide under my tent

The Coffee Shack and other adventures

We made it out to one of our favorite restaurants a couple of mornings for breakfast. The Coffee Shack has a great view of Captain Cook's Cove and also has a bunch of geckos to watch while eating. Here is a great family photo from the deck.

We used the laundry basket as a great play pen for Ruby

What a cutie!

Um...you forgot something...

Back to the beach for some fun

Ruby in a bikini and wondering what to do with the sand in her hand...

Well of course this is what you should do...yummy

Mother's Day

We spent Mother's Day in Hawaii for the second year in a row...but this year we had little Ruby to join us!

Here are a few photos of Kelly and the kiddos on the special day!

Oliver pushing Ruby around the house in a laundry basket

After breakfast at the house, we headed to our favorite beach for some fun in the sun.

Ruby playing in the waves and eating sand

A few hours on the beach was all she could take...nap time

Here is Ruby's view from her nap

Hawaii - Day one and two

Last week we were lucky enough to spend in Hawaii! The Purdy family opened up their home for us to stay in and we had an amazing trip. Below are some pics from the start of the trip.

One boy was super happy to be there!

Oh no...we had some dino sightings

OK - maybe they were just toys

Oliver, Ruby, and Kelly enjoying the pool

This little man spent 3+ hours a day in the pool...so much fun

He also liked to make sure that the pool was clean
