Vancouver BC

This past weekend we made a trip up to Vancouver BC for some fun and a dermatology conference. Here are a few photos from the weekend:

How lucky were we to have Thomas in the lobby at the hotel...we visited Thomas multiple times a day.

We spent many hours at some of the local parks in downtown and in Stanley Park.

Running down the dock

We had a ton of fun watching the float planes landing and taking off.

In Stanley Park - we took the train around and heard the story about the Indian Princess saving the sun.

Here are a few photos on the beach at Stanley park. We spent some time throwing rocks in the water and climbing on rocks.

Dinner in Gas Town next to the Steam Clock.

Oliver and I spent a morning at the aquarium. They had some cool displays and animals to look at. Here is a tank with fish and frogs in which you could duck under and come up in the middle and look around.

Oliver and Diego posing for a picture in front of the beluga whales

Don't worry - it's just a picture

How about that for a dolphin show...

Here we are on the ferry over to Granville Island...

After some time in the markets, listening to some live music, and a great dinner which included a super fancy peanut butter and jelly sandwich - we sat on the dock waiting for the ferry and took some silly photos.

Watch out - Oliver took control of the picture taking...

Some other park shots

Tonsils and Carsen's Bday

Don't worry - Carsen's Bday didn't include taking tonsils out, but last week included a few events - Oliver's tonsils and adenoids being removed and Carsen's Bday party at the local park. Here are a few photos:
Bellevue Children's Hospital was great. Here is the champ getting ready for surgery...

Post surgery...Oliver's bear Blonzo was keeping him company in recovery.

On a different note...here is Oliver and Kendall having some strawberry shortcake and Carson's Bday party.

The first sleepover...

OK - it wasn't technically a sleep over, but Oliver did go over to Hayden's house and did fall asleep with Hayden before we picked him up. Here is the sequence of events that evening:

First things first - let's pull all the toys off the bookshelf

Hey look - a firetruck outside...at least it wasn't there for us

Let's make some smoothies...

That sure is loud...

And...

Mustaches...

Yummy!

More more more...spinach?

Once you finish a couple smoothies...doesn't everyone take a naked scooter ride around the house?

Movie time...

Goodnight!

Baby Sister...

We are in the midst of changing out the office to a nursery for Oliver's baby sister coming in the next couple months. Here are a few pictures of the progress as well as an update to the downstairs.

The whole wall painted and the room coming into shape...more updates to follow.

Here is the new barn door installed downstairs as well as the updated bar. We are about done with the downstairs update.

Visiting Grandpa's shop

Coming back from Useless Bay - we stopped of to visit Grandpa at the shop and ride on the forklift. After some hesitation - Oliver quickly enjoyed riding on the machinery! So cool!

July 4th, 2011

We spent the weekend of July 4th at Useless Bay on Whidbey Island with the James family. The bay was far from useless with beautiful views, fun times in the sand, and amazing fireworks shows. Here are a few photos from the weekend.

The photos are a bit out of order, but here is Oliver helping to set the logs and start the fire for some smores.

Oliver and Kendall had a ton of fun playing in the sand, finding sand dollars, and running through the water..here they are digging away.

Smile!

Oliver enjoyed balancing on the driftwood

The adults and kids got a game or two of monopoly in over the weekend. Yeah, we were wild and crazy!

Some kit flying - Oliver, Kendall, and Kelly

Here is O taking the string and watching the kite fly...this picture was taken right before he let go of the handle and the kits flew down the beach

This picture was actually take a few hours before Oliver got sick on us for 24 hours. He was still laughing away!

Mom and son

Mom and son again

The fire is warming up...bring out the chocolate, mellows, and grahams.

Heating up those mellows...

Yummy!

Here was our view of the beach, Rainier, and some of the Seattle skyline in the distance.
On the actual 4th of July, many of the homes in the area had some amazing fireworks shows, but we could also see all the way to the Seattle show on Lake Union. It was a great place for fireworks...unless your name is Bogey.

Evan or Gavin?

Oliver and Kendall holding hands...

A quick pic of all the kids that weekend - Oliver, Kendall, Gavin, and Evan.

More yummy treats being made.
