Kona Luau

We went to our first Luau on this trip and it was fun to see. A bit cheesy at times, but overall we all had fun and Oliver loved the drums and fire.

Drum time...

I can keep the beat...

Well - let's just say there was a little plaid going around

Here are a couple shots of the fire dancer doing his thing

Oliver was so excited to take a photo and give the dude a high five. He made multiple trips up to this guy to tell him thanks and give him a high five.

Hawaii May 2011

We made our annual trip to Kona last week. We had a ton of fun and it was cool to see Oliver be more independent on the trip. We spent a lot of time on the beach, in the pool, and on walks into town. We also were lucky enough to have our friends Scotty and Nancy join us for a few days of fun in the sun (or the heavy rain, thunder, and lightning that we experienced on this trip).

Here is our independent kid checking out the rocks on the beach

Oliver and dad enjoying the warm water

Do you see the moon up there?

Checking out the kids on the beach...who am I going to make friends with today?

Jacob was the winner today! They ended up playing together a couple of days at the beach. Oliver also made friends with Cameron, Fishboy, and the kid from Calgary.

Easter Weekend

Easter weekend started off with an kids service and Easter egg hunt at Bellevue Presbyterian.
Here is Oliver in full stride with a smile hunting down his alloted 9 eggs.

Running as fast as he can...

Grandma Joan and Oliver counting the eggs and showing them off!

On Easter we had a nice gathering with family and our own Easter egg hunt with Oliver and Tanner.

There is the prize...

Tan-man had a bit more difficult locations for finding eggs...but he was game once he realized that the Easter Bunny left cash in his eggs.

Here is Tanner checking out the egg hunt competition for years to come.

Baskets full - all done!

Recent events...

What do you think of my new haircut?

The other day we met the Kruse family for a free night at the EMP. Above is Brett teach Oliver a few things about the guitar.

Oliver and Hayden on the drums.

Now the boys are rocking out to a bit of Hendrix

Here is Oliver and Kendall playing the hand stacking game before a pizza dinner...they have so much fun together.

This past weekend we attended Wylie's birthday at Pump it Up. Here are all the kids that had fun jumping in the bouncy houses...oh shoot - I didn't get in the picture since I was taking the picture.

Oliver also had fun playing a few games of air hockey...although he still like scoring on himself and watching the puck disappear.

Above is Kelly visiting with Gavin and Evan - the newest additions to the James family

Here is the Kirkland Clan at Kristy's recent baby shower...

Here are the cute cupcakes Kelly made for the shower

And now a picture of a bunch of the kids...nope - not all

Cousin Zane and the Tulips

The first weekend of April - Kelly, Oliver, and I went up to visit Baby Zane and family. We had a great morning meeting the little guy.

Riley, Kelly, and Zane catching up

Oliver and Luke played great together all morning. Oliver loved following Luke around!

Mike and Riley smiling for the camera

After meeting Zane - we took off towards La Conner to see the Tulips. It was a bit early in the season with the cold winter for the fields to be ready, but we did see plenty of daffodils.

Purple and Gold - go Dawgs!

I think in this picture he was smiling while splashing in some puddles...

Yup...the puddles were fun!

Mommy...where are my sunglasses?

Yeah...Oliver is in full sprint towards the tent labelled Kettle Corn.

Hey, we found some tulips after all

Mt Si Relay

A couple weekends ago - Team GTL took the Mt Si Relay by storm...we finished 14th overall and 5th in mixed teams.

Team members Daisy, Mike, Wendy, Ashley, and Tony

I had never used car paint before...fun stuff

This is what the back of the Pilot looks like after 59 miles of a relay

So part of the relay was updating Facebook with regular updates...I don't think any of us actually talked during the run - we just read each others posts.

Here we are after the wet and cold race...until next year...
