Chuckanut 50K

On March 19th, Brett and I ran the Chuckanut 50k (31 miles) up in Bellingham WA. It ended up being a beautiful day...the weather and temp couldn't have been more perfect. Looks like it might become a yearly tradition for me. Jumping for stable footing... Ok - so we might have been hamming it up for the camera a bit. There is another photo out there with Brett's elbow in my face as he's pushing me back down the hill. Good times!

Fun in March

Below are a few random pictures from the phone that took place this past month: Uncle Steve and Aunt Rachel surprised Oliver with a human hamster wheel...and some static! Oliver and Hayden had some much fun in the giant ball. Here Hayden is putting his weight into it to push Oliver across the yard. So all the adults are hanging upstairs and it gets a bit quiet downstairs...what do you think the kids are up to? Yeah - they found every deck of cards and decided to play 5,200 card pick up!

Oliver met his friends Gavin and Avery over at Arena Sports for some bouncy house time...of the 15 photos taken - this was the most clear shot...there is no standing still here (for the kids or the parents)

Oliver really enjoys reading a Thomas the Train catalog and looking at the photos...is the grin on his face due to the Thomas pics or the fact that we just had a Top Pot doughnut? Don't worry - we were stopped at a light when I took this picture.

Oliver's friend Maria turned 2 in March and we went to her super fun birthday party. Oliver had a blast riding around on the Barbie four wheeler - but soon got bored of sitting in the seat so he started doing tricks.

Here is Maria blowing out her candles...who is that in the front row wearing the striped hooded sweatshirt ready to pounce on the first slice of cake?

House updates...

March has been a super busy month, but a lot of that was because we were hard at work on projects all around the house. Thanks to Swantek Construction - the updates look amazing and were done quickly and right. We also did a few projects ourselves including all the painting and sewing some pillows. See below for a couple pics from the phone of the updates: Newly installed fireplace, insert, mantle (thanks Whitcomb and Co), and cushions Paint, Paint, Paint...definitely brightened it up down there...
When Oliver helped me put the new media cabinet in...he decided he wanted to be the media.

Crystal and Baptism

In early March - we went up to Crystal for a weekend of skiing and while we were up there we just happened to get Oliver baptised. Well, it was actually planned, but it did take place up at the Crystal Mountain Chapel. Here is Oliver after a day of skiing on Saturday taking the gondola up to the top of the mountain for some apres ski appetizers and milk...he was looking forward to the gondola ride all day! Checking out the scenery Taking an even closer look... On Sunday, we skied in the morning and then went to mass and the baptism at the chapel...yes, many of us are in our ski clothes. Oliver did a great job for Father Anderson and was a very patient boy...I was a little nervous before hand how he would handle having water put on his head...he sure isn't the biggest fan when taking a bath but he did a great job. After the baptism with Godparents Scott and Nancy, Father Anderson, and mom and dad. Here is Oliver and Grammi catching some laughs before some hot chocolate. A few more laughs over the weekend.

January / February updates

We haven't been posting a ton lately...so here are a few recent events in the last 6 weeks. First and most recent was a weekend trip to Suncadia. We shot over there for two nights the other weekend and had a ton of fun in the snow, at the pool, and in the lodge.

Snow is so much fun!

Snow is too much fun

yeah - it's cold

Mommy and O cruising down the hill on the tube.

Taking the rope tow back up the hill.

Now - it's daddy's turn to head down the hill with O.

Oliver and Kendall had some fun making valentine's day cookies and consumed a bit of sugar in the process

And then way back in January we celebrated Grandma Joan's birthday. Here is Oliver and Grandma getting ready to blow out the candles

Crystal Mountain

More pictures to come, but here are a few from our weekend trip up to Crystal Mountain. Although we've had the plastic skis on Oliver before - this was his first experience with real skis and real boots...and a real chairlift!

In the parking lot - getting ready for some afternoon turns

Wow - this is fun!

The first afternoon Oliver's eyes watered from the cold air and moving so quickly down the hill so he now is sporting some cool goggles

To finish out the trip to Crystal - a nap all the way home...must be nice
